The actual songwriting is pretty strong, though not as original as their later work or masked by lackluster vocals and drums. “Lost in the Dust” and “Ghosts of Babylon” both have solid principle riffs, well realized solos (Ghosts of Babylon has a solo riff that sounds a lot like Malmsteen’s Eclipse), and enough hooks to stick in your head. Although I’ve come to like Magic Kingdom mostly for their speed metal, both of these songs are solid down tempo 80s metal tracks, although I’d wager they’d sound better now if re-recorded with Olaf Hayer doing the vocals. “Land of the Fire” has an opening riff that sounds extremely similar to Nocturnal Rites’ “Pentagram” and “Angels of Thunder” listens like an obvious homage to “I’ll See the Light Tonight”. Likewise with many of the other songs on here, when hearing them you can enjoy them, but can’t help but hear blatant references to established acts at the time.

Take a first glance at Mystic Prophecy and you will notice that they are from Germany. A second glance will reveal that they play power metal. Add these two observations together and you could be forgiven for concluding that they must sound like any number of bland Blind Guardian or Helloween impersonators. Fortunately, you would be mistaken. The point is that Regressus is one of those albums that is something of a pleasant surprise. It has all the hallmarks of being a pretty run-of-the-mill metal album: suitably silly swords and sorcery band name? Check. Clichéd fantasy artwork? Check. Iron Maiden and Manowar covers as bonus tracks? Check. Nothing out of the ordinary for European power metal so far…

Mindfeed was formed by ex-Threshold vocalist Glynn Morgan (he worked with Threshold on Psychedelicatessen, which is my least favorite album of the band)
Actually, Morgan not only sings but also handles axeman duties on this album. Overall this is a darker and heavier version of Psychedelicatessen sounding sometimes much more extreme. A good album

INFO : "Nightwolf" was a creation of Spiros Manatos (main composer and vocalist) and Theodore Hitiris (co composer & Drummer) back in 1995 in Greece. Guitarist and main composer Alex Sidiropoulos was the next who joined the band and was followed by Bass player Peter Apotsos and second Guitarist Panos Papadopoulos. The band was influenced by N.W.O.B.H.M. and Power Metal bands like Iron Maiden, Helloween, Judas Priest, Iced Earth and more. The first demo tape was recorded in 1995 at Q Studios in Thessaloniki and released in 1996 with the title "Nightwolf".

Although this Demo received very good reviews by local music magazines and radio stations, the band split in 1999.
