Tracks one through three are from Regiments of Death, four through six are from The Sybling, and seven and eight are from No Submission. "Thrash to Destroy" was partially recorded (rhythm guitar, bass, and drums) in 1984 and completed (with another rhythm guitar track, a solo, and vocals) in 2008. "Onslaught" is one of the first songs Militia ever wrote and is taken from a 1984 rehearsal. Tracks 11 and 12 were recorded at the Ritz Theater in early 1986.

Four years after the release date of the acclaimed "Habemus Metal" THE combo from the French Basque country is finally back with its new release, "A L'Ombre Des Vautours". Killers is one of the oldest band from France and this 15th album is a great way to show that even after 24 years of career the band is still alive and more powerful than ever. The fans of Speed Metal like the fans of the combo (of course) will not have to miss this great new album.
Killers still use the same recipe, but why would you want to change it? It works and after all, the band doesn't have to prove anything so… As always, Killers plays a mix of Hard Rock and Thrash Metal, something that we called in the 80's Speed Metal and even if we don't use a lot this denomination anymore, I have to say that "A L'Ombre Des Vautours" doesn't sound like something "old". Despite the French lyrics (which are unfortunately a wall to a lot of people outside of France) which don't sound modern, the music is extremely good and powerful as hell. Bruno Dolheguy and his band mates play their best Metal with a lot of charisma and a lot of enthusiasm and it's a real pleasure to listen to this new album. It's thrashy and cut like a sharpened razor blade and of course it doesn't lack of rhythm.

 The short form of this review would be that this is one of the best heavy metal albums I've ever heard. OK, that's too short so here's the long form. Killers is a French heavy metal band (not to be confused with Paul Di'Anno's Killers) that started in the early 80s and is still active today. There are two things that distinguish this band: First, they sing in French. I'm French-Canadian but have never been a fan of rock and metal sung in French, which I always thought more suited for softer music. Well, Killers are the exception, managing to match the "language of love" with heavy/thrash metal. Secondly, how could I put this... Their music simply kills (no pun intended.) As far as I know, the band has not achieved international recognition and it's a damn shame. Such great material should be heard and owned by just about every fan of heavy metal and thrash.

Here they are again, those ingenious French men! Their newest album "Habemus Metal" blows your mind again! Already the speedy opener "Le Cote Sombre" rocks like Mackie Messer and it's interrupted by a cool Flamenco acoustic break. Just beautiful until the mangy vocals of fronter Bruno Dolheguy introduces again. A top song!

Who thinks that this was KILLERS' best will be taught with the following song. "Mal" is another flourishless power rocker like of a Metal schoolbook. Mighty, fat drums and guitars introduce this song until the vocals are introduced. The song is rather paced in mid-tempo, but the French do their best also in this way! The song "Esprit Sain" surpasses this and unleashes a pretty Thrash fusillade, hectic drumming and mighty guitar riffs will lead every headbanger into the Metal nirvana! Divinely!

Bruno DOLHEGUY is the only "survivor" of KILLERS Mark 1... He used to play rhythm guitar in the early years (1984) when KILLERS was a five guys' band from Bayonne (famous city of the Basque country in the southern part of France, on the Atlantic coast, by the spanish border). Bruno began to sing later....
KILLERS recorded two Lps with the early line-up: "FILS DE LA HAINE" (1985), "DANGER DE VIE" (1986) but two years later the all band stopped KILLERS and Bruno DOLHEGUY decided to continue on his way with new pals.
Two albums more were recorded with that a new crew: "MISE AUX POINGS" (1987) & "RESISTANCES" (1989).When the lead singer decided to stop musical activities Bruno took his part and during year 1991 KILLERS became a 4 members group definitively.
KILLERS recorded 3 studio-albums : "CITES INTERDITES" (1992), "CONTRE-COURANT" (1995), "FORT INTERIEUR" (1998) and a live album "ENNEMIS EN PUBLIC" (1996).After the release of "FORT INTERIEUR", Bruno DOLHEGUY decided that it was time to change the line-up , thinking a transfusion of fresh blood was necessary with the intention of keeping intact the passion of the group ... That's the reason why the monster is still alive and well !

Finally the fourth album of the band went out and I say to you only a thing: will runto buy it ! It is killers'best album. No defect of the previous albums remains. "Resistances" has the big sound, the power and the compositions will make it turn pale more of one of jealousy. This album does not annoy us one minute. All the songs are powerful about is the approached subject "vengeance", "prisonnier", "reves secrets", "roi du speed", "metamorphose" and "solei noir", the instrumental of the album, are so many pieces which will remain engraved in your memories. The everything remains very fast but also very worked with numerous breaks. Remain to note the remarkable progress of Serge in the singing, which does not roar any more as before but really sings and the beautiful artwork.
