"The idea was to remix some of the older material off of The Legacy and the New Order recordings," state the liner notes penned by the band. "In short, politically this could not happen." The result is one of the dreaded "re-recordings" that several artists have unfortunately opted to do. It is not a coincidence that the bands that embark on these attempts to rewrite history often have several new members, and are frequently washed up. The songs all sound pretty much the same, with the marginal increase in recording quality offset by the lack of spontaneity and passion that came with the young band anxious to show the world what they were made of.

After the intro "Paint The Devil On The Wall" sets off with good, straight and swift mid-tempo, but after that hell breaks loose: "The Mirror In Your Eyes" thunders full force ahead, almost like in their best times. Still has a lot of melody, but the double-bass are galloping again, the guitars roar, aah, I've waited for this for some time! The whole classical stuff, which had been brilliant on "Lingua Mortis", well integrated on "XIII" and just ballast on "Ghosts" has been thrown over-board and they've created a very varied album with "Welcome To The Other Side", where the classical passages are cleverly integrated into the METAL-Songs.

Draconian Times is the fifth album released by British metal act Paradise Lost.
Two tracks from the album, "The Last Time" and "Forever Failure," were released as singles. "Forever Failure" includes a sample of the voice of Charles Manson several times during the song.
In the archive I have included both Legacy and Limited Edition of ''Draconian Times''. The ''Legacy Edition'' includes 19 tracks and a DVD which is not included.   2001 reissue of a classic Christian metal album. The bonus tracks are mostly demo tracks taken from the bands 'Frontline Life' demo. "I Need You Love" and "Son of God" both appeared on the infamous "California Metal" compilation. Being that these were only demo tracks, none have stellar production, but they are not completely terrible either. Actually "Son Of God" was one of the first Neon Cross tracks I ever heard, and is to this day one of my favorite songs by them. Also, this was 1987 when production in heavy metal wasn't anywhere near as important as the attitude and energy that was presented within the music.

Bruno DOLHEGUY is the only "survivor" of KILLERS Mark 1... He used to play rhythm guitar in the early years (1984) when KILLERS was a five guys' band from Bayonne (famous city of the Basque country in the southern part of France, on the Atlantic coast, by the spanish border). Bruno began to sing later....
KILLERS recorded two Lps with the early line-up: "FILS DE LA HAINE" (1985), "DANGER DE VIE" (1986) but two years later the all band stopped KILLERS and Bruno DOLHEGUY decided to continue on his way with new pals.
Two albums more were recorded with that a new crew: "MISE AUX POINGS" (1987) & "RESISTANCES" (1989).When the lead singer decided to stop musical activities Bruno took his part and during year 1991 KILLERS became a 4 members group definitively.
KILLERS recorded 3 studio-albums : "CITES INTERDITES" (1992), "CONTRE-COURANT" (1995), "FORT INTERIEUR" (1998) and a live album "ENNEMIS EN PUBLIC" (1996).After the release of "FORT INTERIEUR", Bruno DOLHEGUY decided that it was time to change the line-up , thinking a transfusion of fresh blood was necessary with the intention of keeping intact the passion of the group ... That's the reason why the monster is still alive and well !

After the very good bombastic and somehow soundtrack-like intro "Dragondawn" "Storming Across Heaven" is a full-on high-speed Power Metal-assault of the epic kind, with unobtrusive keyboards, a really good start! And the following "A Last Farewell" is a nice, intense ballad with a female guest-vocalist, which (the ballad, not the singer!) is coming over very well, too, just a little unusual to put a ballad so high up in the play-list, but as long as it is this good, there are not any problems with that.
Following this DRAGONLAND cannot fully keep the level, but still, speedy hammers like "Ride For Glory" and "The Battle Of The Ivory March" or mid-tempo-stuff of the "Braveheart"-category are above average for sure. The only slight drop-out is the Mozart-cover-version of "Rondo a la Turca", because here the keyboard is the melody-leading instrument. As talented as Master Holmlid is, in such a piece this role belongs to the guitar, as STORMWITCH have proved all those many years back.
