GIRLSCHOOL were a sadly overlooked heavy metal band made up of (guess what!) girls! But despite what you might think of a band with girls playing their instruments, GIRLSCHOOL played with such an intensity and a knack for hooky, catchy songs that some of their male counterparts twisted in shame. Despite being spawned during the NEW WAVE OF BRITISH HEAVY METAL's peak, GIRLSCHOOL's sound owed much to fellow punks like DISCHARGE and GBH and of course, MOTORHEAD, with whom they made a friendship that lasts even to this date. The guitar sounds are decidedly brutal, making any of DEF LEPPARD's records of the time (1980-1983) sound positively tame in comparison. HIT AND RUN is GIRLSCHOOL at its most intense, heaviest and fastest, yet the songs were really memorable and had this had a more "subtle" production it would have been an international hit.

Info : Eddie Smith quit Medusa to join the glam rock band Wrathchild, and they split up altogether when Lance Perkins followed him a short while later (a drummer known as Phil had briefly replaced Smith).
Steve Grimmett then went on to join the re-started version of Grim Reaper.

Though spending most of their career as a four-piece, Medusa briefly had a second guitarist whose name is now lost to history.

Originally recorded in 1981 intended to be Manilla Road's second album, the results were unsatisfactory to the band and so it was scrapped in favor of writing for the album "Metal". After half of the scrapped songs existed for 20 years as a bootleg called "Dreams of Eschaton" (which would also have been the original title in 1981), Monster Records finally cleaned up the master tapes and reissued this album in its entirety in December 2002 under a different name.

Accept is a German heavy metal band from the town of Solingen, originally assembled in the early 1970s by Udo Dirkschneider. They played an important role in the development of speed metal and Teutonic thrash metal, being part of the German heavy/speed/power metal scene to emerge in the early to mid 1980s along with bands such as Helloween, Running Wild, Grave Digger, Sinner, and Rage. The band’s 1983 album, Balls to the Wall, subsequently became their most successful release, featuring its well-known hit of the same title.
