Compared with their second album "Vague Visions", released one year before, Danish JACKAL didn't show them heavily changed with "A Safe Look In Mirrors". Still Power Metal, but still not the kind you hear so often nowadays, but more basic, no bombast, no nursery rhyme-melodies, again MAIDEN-influenced. But still, they used more double-bass-drumming on this album, getting more power into their compositions.
