Despite his outlandish reputation, no-one can deny that Ozzy Osbourne has had an immeasurable effect on heavy metal. Ozzy began his music career in the late '60s as singer with Black Sabbath. The band, released their self-titled album in 1970, and would go on to release many platinum selling metal classics. In 1978 Ozzy was fired from Sabbath and headed out on an amazing roller coaster solo career. As a showman, his instincts are impeccable; his live shows have always been overwrought spectacles of gore and glitz that have endeared him to adolescents around the world. Ozzy has managed to establish himself as an international superstar, capable of selling millions of records, packing arenas across the globe and capturing new fans along the way. None more so than when the cameras of MTV entered his family home making him a house hold name and introducing him to another generation of fans.
