After the break-up of Twisted Sister, frontman Dee Snider went on to form a band called Desperado. But when their record company backed out of releasing their debut album, just weeks prior to it's release, Dee and Marc Russell (bass) went on to form Widowmaker with guitar wizard Al Pitrelli (Megadeth, Savatage) and ex-Twisted Sister drummer Joe Franco. Widowmaker is the natural follow up to what Dee was doing with Twisted Sister and Desperado. And several of the songs here were written for the latter bands first album that Elektra dumped. Widowmaker also have this southern country and/or blues feel in many of their tunes, which is sort of weird coming from a New York band. But any hard rock and/or metal Dee sees fit to present us seems to go straight to this fans heart. So I find this album as pleasing as most of his prior work. Dee is a solid singer, a terrific songwriter and an excellent frontman. Combined with a great band to back him up, and he is indestructible. 'Blood And Bullets' is yet another fine product from one of the originals of the metal world.

In it's early stages PYRAMAZE began in the winter of 2001/2002, when then 24 year old guitarist Michael Kammeyer left his former band, Damion, with whom, Michael had played for almost three years. After the split, Michael took a short break from music, to clear his mind, gathering new inspiration. After a few months, the idea of writing a complete self financed album of his own material formed in his mind. The following months were spent in intensive song writing mode, and by the summer of 2002 Michael found himself with enough material for a complete album. The time had now come, to find a name and the ideal musicians for this new band, it was then that Pyramaze began to take form.

This release is a remastered, repackaged, reissue of the classic CHASTAIN albums "The 7th of Never" and "The Voice of the Cult" on one Cd.
Both albums featured the studio lineup of David T. Chastain on guitar, Leather on vocals, Mike Skimmerhorn on bass and Ken Mary on drums.
"The 7th of Never" was originally released in 1987 and David states, "Of all of the Chastain Cds this one probably has the best lead guitar playing from top to bottom. This was during an era where my chops were at the top of their shred game." "The 7th" was a very personal album for me and it is still sometimes hard to listen to certain tracks for the feelings they evoke."
"The 7th of Never" album has never been commercially available before in the United States on Cd. During the "7th" era the band did numerous headlining tours throughout the United States as well as playing arena shows with bands such as Alice Cooper and Kiss. The touring band of that time included Les Sharp of CJSS on drums and on some shows, second guitarist Pat O'Brien. Pat is currently a member of the death metal band Cannibal Corpse.

These guys are obviously weened on Maiden, Priest and Helloween, but have their own distinct style. Hyperfast musicianship ala Dragonforce. But while I enjoy Dragonforce a lot, I think that the guys in Cellador actually are better song writers. Blazing lead guitars and dual lead harmonies, great vocals somewhat like Tobias (Edguy) and Dickinson, these guys are destined for greatness. Now, here is the kicker. These guys are not from Europe but from Omaha, NE USA. Check these guys out live. I've seen them twice in the Twin Cities area and have been blown away both times. Buy this disc, crank it up and melt your ears off!

Arryan is a type of flower that grows on the American continents, so Arryan Path is a path of flowers. Formed in the U.S.A., the band went through a lot of lineup changes. During that period they released two demo CDs, Return To Troy and Osiris. Their debut contains many songs from those two demos.
Arryan Path is one of those bands that you can't classify strictly as a Metal outfit. They are too majestic for that. Their base is Heavy Metal of course but only driven to write epic music, whatever that means. Led by a magnificent vocalist they add tons of influences to their songs. Some of you might find the excessive use of keyboards a bit annoying but try to keep in mind the band's bizarre profile. They're not the new Rhapsody after all (thank God for that one!). Songs like Osiris or Piri Reis are stunning, while Arryan Path and Ivorian are simply too damn good!
They could have had a better production but still this one is quite good.

Looking at the Egyptian-styled artwork, one might expect some form of Mediterranean or Macedonian-influenced Power Metal, which is misleading. Some of the lyrical themes are borrowed from Mediterranean folk lore and mythology, and that's pretty much where it ends. ARRAYAN PATH may have some misleading artwork, as the band plays Neoclassical, Malmsteen-inspired Power Metal, but the music contained within is extremely convincing.
Unlike Malmsteen clones, this album is not just a 40-minute shred fest. The band has some solid songwriting skills and they capitalize on this, writing memorable and catchy tunes, while keeping an air of originality. ARRAYAN PATH displays their influences on their sleeves, but that's not a bad thing. The base of the music is Neoclassical Power Metal a la MAGIC KINGDOM and KENZINER, but hints of other genres creep in such as the Thrash feel in several riffs and the Doom Metal plodding and downtrodden tempo on ''Katherine Of Aragon''.
