Abadden - Sentenced To Death UK THRASH CREW IMPRESS ON KILLER DEBUT Talk about dreams coming true; Abadden won an unsigned band competition and bagged themselves a record deal. But they're not just lucky chancers, as they prove here. With their beery syllabic chants ('Res-ur-rec-tion!) and rapid fire riffs and drums, Abadden clearly have the the ingredients of a great thrash band. But also sitting alongside these thrash essentials are some neat twists including acoustic sections, radical tempo changes and even a reference to Ghandi in The Day Of Reckoning's 'An eye for an eye will make us all blind' chorus. For the most part these tracks are very good, but for one three song stretch in particular (The Hand That Feeds, Resurrection, Into The Dark) this release becomes excellent. If this is the damage they've done after round one, their next album should be a knockout!
