The album as a whole is a very enjoyable listen, and rather memorable. The opening track perhaps drags on a little bit, but Arryan Path’s designs on this album are otherwise fairly focused. It is clear that this band excels at passionate, epic compositions, and they really pull out some excellent vocal sections during their choruses, particularly on “Open Season” and “The Blood Remains On The Believer”.
Lyrically, the album touches on some historical battles and issues, as well as some outright fantasy (Minas Tirith), and so is somewhat varied. Even “Minas Tirith”, despite being a very unoriginal concept, is a very enjoyable song, perhaps one of the stronger on the album.
