Sadistic Symphony isn't the band's best release, but it is still a very solid, hard-hitting heavy metal album. You can always count on Geoff Thorpe to deliver quality metal albums without any attempts to mimic the hot trend of the day, and this is no exception. The album's only weak point is the vocal performance. Morgan Thorn's voice sounds like a cross between Messiah Marcolin (Candlemass) and Mandy Lion (WWIII), and has a jarring quality that actually distracts from the music.

Disgression! The vocals remind me of Paul Di'anno and I don't think that they're the weak link in the chain. Compared with the Carl Albert albums they may come in second best, but if you look upon it on its own it's really a strong release!
