Taking Over is the second studio album by thrash metal band Overkill, released in 1987 through Atlantic Records and Megaforce Records. It was the last album to feature drummer Rat Skates, who would leave the band later that year. It was also the first Overkill album to be released through Atlantic Records (who would release all of their albums up to 1994's W.F.O.) as well as the first to enter the Billboard 200, reaching #191 on that chart. "In Union We Stand" was the song chosen to be Overkill's first music video. A tour of Europe followed the release of Taking Over, opening for power metal band Helloween.
