San Francisco Metal act MERCENARY became the stuff of folklore as the Bay Area Thrash scene developed almost mythical proportions on mainland Europe during the 90s. MERCENARY's legacy far outweighed their original achievements, the band having only cut one demo tape in 1986 and performed just two gigs. The original incarnation of the band- vocalist Sven Soderlund, guitarist Danny White, bassist Brooks Holland and drummer Slade Anderson formed in July 1985. The recorded 'Demo 86' in April of '86 and folded in the fall of '86. A reformation attempt was brought about in 1987 involving MORDRED guitarist Jim Sanguinetti and drummer Gannon Hall but after a miserly two live appearances MERCENARY imploded yet again in February of 1987. Both Hall and guitarist Danny White allied themselves with MORDRED.
