Personally speaking their masterpiece, they've never reached that heights again, admittably the next 2 releases were almost as good, but the came the descend into the valley of tears.

I agree with you completely. The two follow up albums were and still are great albums but after that they went downhill. Their American Soldier album is a total disaster.

Maybe it is better to call it quits and rest on the laurels of better days.

I agree also my friends. Actually im not so much into the progressive style, so i think the first 3 alboums are the REAL Queensryche. Operation, along with the 7th Son of the Irons, were the beggining of the Heavy/Progressive metal sound.
